I am somebody with something very important to say. I just don't know what yet.

A rework of an old drawing I did from 2010. Most of my old sketches have gotten dirty and I got many of them signed by some of my favorite bands.

Tzaddi Esguerra 2012. Pen and Marker
Again, in my attempt to remember things without a camera over the summer.
I missed my stop one morning on my way home from some Heima event. I didn’t really miss the station, I just didn’t feel like getting up from my seat yet - chancing upon a seat at LRT1 is such a novelty. I got off at Roosevelt to join some old college friends for lunch at UP. Their text came at impeccable timing.
They were still at mass when I got there so I strolled around the campus and halfway around the oval through the freshie walk while waiting for them and I had me my first dose of lovely alone time since starting my internship. I didn’t have my running shoes so I just sat and drew myself after a lap.

Finally had a bit of time today to try out a bunch of programs that’s been sitting in my hard drive since last year. Here’s my pretty ambitious first go at Illustrator.
The pen tool will never in a million years be my thing.

Finally had a bit of time today to try out a bunch of programs that’s been sitting in my hard drive since last year. Here’s my pretty ambitious first go at Illustrator.

The pen tool will never in a million years be my thing.

New favorite thing: Elmer’s brush pen
Cost: Php 0.00, technically

A few 6am sketches from this morning. I forgot I bought this thing earlier this summer. It came free with this one last set of Maped kids colored pens set of 24’s I bought for around Php 150.00 at a SM department store.

I bought them mainly for the free brush pens, there are actually three of them, this blue one and another two in red and yellow. I was planning on throwing the paints out from the pens so I could turn them into Koi brushes for my watercolors.

They’re pretty neat. You could go from super fine lines to groovy smudges in one stroke.

Flowers from some of the cities I’ve been this summer. I hadn’t taken my camera with me in most trips so I pressed little keepsakes between pages of books I’ve been reading.

i. Cebu, Cebu - because they remind me much of childhood in Cebuii. Dapitan, Zamboanga - picked somewhere along the baywalk from the restaurant to the resort.iii. San Pablo, Laguna from the 3.7 km stroll around Sampaloc lake plus trekkingiv. Makati, Manila - after talking the entire night with a complete stranger at Heima’s staff house and walking for coffee in the morning v. Dipolog, Zamboanga - lunch at the port while waiting for the ferryvi. Quezon, Manila - a little something I picked up from the streets I used to walk everyday to class. vii. Intramuros, Manila - there were lovers everywhere while I waited for friends to arrive so I pressed the nearest flower inside my book, trying to look poetic and all.viii. Dumaguete, Negros - while asking for directions from a vendorix. XXXXXx. XXXXXxi. XXXXXxii. Tagaytay, Cavite - outside Bag of Beans, after the loveliest coffee I’ve ever had. Not for the roast but the view that came with it.

I love it how friends seem to suddenly need something drawn or painted whenever I’m running low on cash. I hope how much I get for this will be enough for cab money tomorrow. huhu. I’m working on this for an old classmate as a birthday present for her orgmate (left). She wants her portrait done with her favorite Korean star. I made them have matching bow ties because I didn’t know how else to make it work. Does it?

I came across this artist’s works in a book I couldn’t afford. I really wish I’m sorry for taking photos of it.

My only Moleskine pad, my dirty tray of Prang and my tiny Koi waterbrush are the only art things I managed to bring with me. Glad I did.

Something I did on my first two days at work. Now, I don’t illustrate or craft or what for my internship, before you go thinking that - I just had a lot of time.
I come in at 1pm and head home after 8pm. I help open the store, write receipts, memorize furniture prices in case the people who come in actually ask for them (they rarely do), I do inventories, manage the contact list, invite customers to come upstairs to view the exhibit, take pictures of products for the sales list and inventory and run few errands here and there. I’ve cleaned the store about twice yesterday and reorganized the drawers and stuff because office supplies and stocks were all over each other because of the recent exhibits and events. But I don’t know. Still, somehow, I had eons of time to spare.
I wish I had come in a week earlier. I could have enjoyed painting gold circles on the walls. Haha. And move stuff around for the exhibit and meet people and stuff because now all the events and exhibits left for the summer are over at the main branch. And I wish I studied design. Design interns over at the other branch look so productive with their groovy design thingimajigs on the computer :))
I quite enjoy slow hours hanging out with Miss Mads, the store manager and her boyfriend at the Cubao branch with their Oh Hi jokes but I hope they’ll be needing extra hands at the main branch come the collection launch this May.

Before any more of you guys get any ideas about how “cool” I am for having a surfboard.

Well. Sorry to disappoint but I am not. I think I’m not even sorry. haha. This is not mine. A friend just lent me this. And yesterday he had me had me draw things on it to get back together with my other friend. It just so happens that I’ve yet to prepare this for them for tomorrow because I have to leave town so it’s lying on my bed while I pack. I don’t surf.

But I’m going to have a blast this summerrrrr! Mohohohoho

I better be heading out to my friend’s to finish up on our paper now. Gonna have to leave it at this state.

One of the things to tick off from today’s impossibly long list of to-do’s. Really close to summer now!
